White Large Capiz Cylinder Wind Chime by Zen Wind

I am re-doing my balcony. To make it more inviting with a romantic touch and mainly to fully utilize my outdoor space. When its all done, I intend to have dinner or a drink and relax on the balcony in the evening with hubby at least once a week (with fairy lights, tea light candles and such...). It will be our little private alfresco. This Capiz wind chime with such beachy feel and gentle tinkle sound will be a good addition for that space.
"Some 70 years ago several fisher families moved from Madura to Java’s Eastern coast because of the perfusion of sea life. During stormy weather, after the nets were mended, they began making handicrafts from the discarded shells. Capiz shells, or Jingle Oysters grow like weeds in the shallow sea beds. The beautiful watery colors and sweet tinkling sound are a wonderful addition to any interior or garden.
Zen Wind believes in traditions of craftsmanship, simplicity, harmony, and the use of natural elements. As a member of the Fair Trade Federation they respect the local artisans’ lifestyles, traditions, and environment, working with villages to educate in conservation, sustainable development, and organic farming."

Happy Birthday my Love!

Happy Birthday Darling! May today be filled with love, understanding and contentment as you journey through life with me. Joy and happiness will definitely come your way. Many many happy returns!
"Grow old along with me, the best is yet to be."
Every morning I wake up and see,
The most handsome man lying next to me.
He's the one I cherish and love,
A blessing sent from Heaven above.
I will love him as a faithful wife should,
And do everything for him I could.
I would let him know everyday,
That I love him more than words can say.

A husband is someone, Who is loving and true
Bringing much joy to the things that you do
The smiles he gives at the start of the day
Fill you with love as you start on your way
A husband is someone special,Whose sweet love is shown
By that special smile that is yours and yours alone
This is you darling
The love of my life
The man I love dearly
I'm glad I'm your wife
Happy Birthday

Simple Life

My resolution for 2010 is to simplify. Simplify our wardrobe. Simplify our diet. Simplify our home. I am de-cluttering. I think I sleep better knowing now my wardrobe will have more air to breathe than those poor fishes in Sungai Pinang. I am donating a third of my clothes to charity. Clothes that have been hanging there for too long. Clothes that will now serve better purpose. Who needs 20 pairs of jeans that no longer fit? Why would a household of two need 4 brooms, 3 toasters and a gazillion of mugs? I am parting with some of my bags and purses. Even if I rotate my bags weekly, I will have enough to last me a year. That should suffice to feed a small village in the third world. I am in the midst of de-cluttering our guest room which somehow has morph into a junk yard. I am a ‘keeper’. I keep too much. It is funny how identifying material things that I do not need is so refreshing.
I need to follow through my plan to de-clutter everything in our lives. And to live simply. To have more by desiring less.
